Instructions
1. Access the Michael Granger case assignment by locating it in the Week 3 Module menu under “Application to Practice.” If prompted, select to load the case in a new browser window. Please be patient as iHuman cases may take a moment to load in our web browser.
2. Choose “Proceed” and begin by addressing the Prework questions. These responses are not graded but are designed to prompt your thinking about the case. You should continue to select the “Proceed” button to advance through the entire case.
3. Start the case and complete the following sections:
a. EHR Review
b. Health History
c. Physical Assessment
Note: There is no time limit for completing the case.
4. During your first attempt and once you’ve finished the case, you will receive feedback from the “Expert” regarding the critical findings you included (or should have included), as well as any information that should have been collected during the health history and physical assessment. The system will also notify you if you asked questions or conducted assessments that are deemed extraneous or irrelevant for that specific case. Review this feedback thoughtfully and take notes for your second attempt, should you wish to improve your score.
5. If you need to leave the case for any reason before completing it, the program will save your progress and return you to the same point when you re-enter the case. Look for the green “Resume” arrow at the bottom of the screen. If you had fully completed a section, you can review it, but you won’t be able to modify your answers. You can only progress through the case.
6. Nurse Notes (50 points) should be completed outside of iHuman and will be evaluated by your instructor. To complete the Nurse Notes, download the necessary template provided below under “Template.” Rename the template as “Your Last Name Week 3 Nurse Notes” and save it as a Microsoft Word document (.docx). Save it to your computer or flash drive in a location where you can access it later. Enter your responses directly into the saved document. Once your Nurse Notes answers are complete, save and close the template. Click the “Submit” button at the top of this page to upload your finished assignment.
7. After completing a case, review the final score and feedback offered by iHuman. You have the option to redo the case a second time before the submission deadline (a total of 2 attempts) to enhance your score. Your instructor will convert your highest iHuman score into points based on the grading rubric. Scores are adjusted according to your performance level.
