How to Remember Important Information in Nursing School
Before nursing school, I could study by making flash cards and did well in courses. But once I started nursing school, things changed. I had more to learn, including how to study effectively. Many nursing students can relate to this.
As both a nursing student and tutor, I’ve noticed that students often struggle with exams not because they don’t study, but because they don’t know how to study. Since my first nursing semester, I’ve used NCLEX books. People might think these are only for those about to graduate, but that’s not true.

Using an NCLEX practice book is crucial for nursing students. Why? Because the types of questions on the NCLEX exam are similar to what you’ll see in your nursing school exams and after graduation. Owning an NCLEX book helps you understand how questions are structured, covering various topics you need to know.
I use the Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination, 8th edition. It’s the best one I’ve found. It covers everything from pathophysiology to critical care nursing. I use it during breaks to review past semester topics and prepare for upcoming exams.
In my fourth semester, this book has made learning critical care and pediatrics easier. Learning can be overwhelming, but I use my book to understand what my professor expects. After taking notes from readings, videos, and lectures, I end the week by using my NCLEX practice book to review.
I test myself with the questions in the book once I have a good grasp of the material. There are over a thousand questions organized by subject and topic. The best part is, explanations are provided for each question. This helps me improve my test-taking skills and identify areas for improvement.
To sum up, I recommend any nursing student or future graduate preparing for the NCLEX to use an NCLEX book. It boosts my confidence before exams and leads to great grades.
Best wishes,
Jehr
