The student must verbalize the assessment technique and exam findings. The faculty must be able to clearly see, hear, and evaluate the examination. Techniques must be performed from memory with no use of notes or supplemental materials during recording. Video head-to-toe exam must be complete within 25 minutes and anything beyond this time frame will not be included in grading.

In this assignment, students are required to perform a comprehensive head-to-toe examination on a non-pregnant volunteer aged 18 years or older. 10. Abdomen
– Inspection of the abdomen
– Auscultate bowel sounds in all 4 quadrants
– Light and deep palpation of the abdomen
– Palpate kidneys, liver, & spleen
– Percuss at least two points in all four quadrants
– Performance of one specialized abdominal exam test (student’s choice)

11. Vascular
– Assessment of capillary refill
– Evaluation of clubbing
– Assessment of pulses including carotid, brachial, radial, dorsalis pedis, and posterior tibial
– Assessment for edema

12. Neurologic
– Evaluation of Romberg, sensation, gait
– Assessment of deep tendon reflexes including brachial, triceps, biceps, patellar
– Examination of cranial nerves: II optic, III oculomotor, IV trochlear, V trigeminal, VI abducens, VII facial, VIII vestibulocochlear, IX glossopharyngeal, X vagus, XI accessory, XII hypoglossal
– Total: 10 points

13. Musculoskeletal
– Inspection of the spine and scoliosis check
– Range of motion (ROM) assessment of upper and lower extremities
